FAIR DEBT COLLECTION
"Embarrassing calls at work. Threats of jail and even violence. Improper
withdrawals from bank accounts. An increasing number of consumers are
complaining of abusive techniques from some companies that are part of a
new breed of debt collectors."
-- The Washington Post, reported July 28, 2005

This firm represents consumers who have been victimized by debt collectors and
creditors that violate state and federal fair debt collection laws.  These cases are taken
on a contingency basis (some costs may apply - inquire at your free consultation), and
we force defendants to ultimately pay those fees.  We also defend collection lawsuits,
usually for a low flat-fee.  We offer
free consultations to any California residents who
feel they may have a case against a debt collector or creditor or want a collection case
filed against them evaluated.

Examples of common violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act:

  • harassing the alleged debtor or others
  • failing to send required consumer notices
  • failing to verify disputed debt
  • calling the alleged debtor’s place of employment
  • revealing alleged debt to third parties
  • continuing to contact the alleged debtor after receiving “cease communication” notice
  • pursuing debts barred by the statute of limitations
  • threatening dire consequences if the alleged debtor fails to pay.

These are just a few examples of the many ways which debt collectors can, and often
do, violate the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
